Our Story

IZAAK AZANEI is a contemporary British label, founded in London in 2014 by sister trio Karishma, Roshni and Deeya Khemlani. The brand was born out of a desire to fuse both luxury and contemporary aesthetics, to create an elevated yet accessible collection, in line with the versatile needs of the cosmopolitan cool-set. With an Indian Mother and a British Indian Father and having travelled extensively growing up as a result, they became aware of the gap in the market for effortless trans-seasonal staples that could work seamlessly with any outfit, whilst maintaining relevance over-time.

They found their niche early on in elevated knitwear, using refined shapes and rich textures to revamp everyday staples into iconic pieces. The brand currently uses recycled cashmere to create easy-to-wear, elevated closet staples that every woman, everywhere can access.

The brand is presented every season in Paris during Fashion Week, and has garnered an impressive list of stockists including Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Farfetch and Joyce Hong Kong.

My daughter.

Quote to live by?

Mary Lou Kownacki — 'There isn't anyone you couldn't love once you've heard their story.' It rings so true and the world would be a far better place if people lived by this.

Recurring beauty purchase?

Homéoplasmine. The number one thing on my PFW to-do list is to go to the nearest pharmacy and pick this up!

Favourite fashion trends?

High waisted flares and shoulder pads – there’s a reason they came back!

How do you unwind?

I READ. I may be a millennial but I refuse to give into this Netflix culture.

Signature scent?

Santal 33 - Le Labo.

Favourite books?

Where to begin?! Only Love Is Real - Dr Brian Weiss, 40 Rules of Love - Elif Shafak, The Untethered Soul - Michael Singer, Shoe Dog - Phil Knight…I could go on and on and on

What would your last meal on Earth be?

A pepperoni pizza and a (big) glass of red wine – I would die SO happy.

Five fashion items you can’t live without?

Leather biker jacket, cross body bag, that one pair of perfectly high waisted workout leggings that are just way better than any of the others, black round neck t shirt and my all-time favourite IA black fur cuff hoodie. Pretty much my everyday attire tbh.

A book you read that really left a mark with you?

Love Life by Ray Kluun - very raw and often uncomfortable to read but deeply moving. I cried in the bathroom for legit 45 minutes right after the ending. Ten years later I still think about it.

A city that keeps calling you back?

Torn between Hong Kong and New York. I’m convinced that in my past life I was a Chinese man living in New York. And no I’m not a tomboy.

Style Muse?

Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert / Christine Centenera

Ultimate beauty secret?

Dr. Barbara Sturm - her day face cream changed my life, as well as Hylaronic Serum daily and Vitamin C oil. I also love face oils - I’m currently using Creme de la Mer’s renewal oil, not quite sure yet if I prefer it to my regular and super basic but effective almond or rose oil.(Not sponsored!)

How do you like your fries?

Spicy, smothered in jalapenos, garlic, red chillies and chipotle mayo. With a side of buffalo wings.

Ultimate hoarder of?

Expensive candles, coffee table books (cliché) and dresses.

Last major fashion purchase, last beauty purchase, last home purchase?

A Goyard backpack, glowing primer by Sensai, and this amazing coffee table book called 'Religion - by Riccardo Tisci' for Visionaire. It is one of my most favourites in my collection and comes in this crazy cool wooden case.

Currently reading?

The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer, alongside Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I’m a super nerd when it comes to business books, but need something for the soul at the same time.

Ambre Nuit by Dior. They also do candles in this scent which are all over my house.
